We, in Eastern Idaho, have been enjoying the luxury of a very mild winter. We had a white Christmas, but that was the ONLY snow we had seen all season. As of yesterday, most of it had melted. The roads were dry, the grass was, well, brown. The sun was shining every day, and we were all running around in jackets and sweaters. My girls even sneaked their flip-flops out of the closets, for some much needed shoeless fun. However, this morning we were so rudely reminded that is it still January in Idaho. We awoke to 5 inches of white. And it's WET. It's the perfect snowman snow, the kind that packs together without even trying. The downside to this is trying to drive on the stuff. I had to go out this morning, and the roads were gleaming expanses of ice. It's wonderful to know the snow is full of water, since we will need it this summer. However, these few weeks of warmth and sunshine have been so wonderful for my spirit. Maybe I just need to move further south...
